Our silence, unspoken consent. This our is social dissent

Conglomerate goods made by children. Minimum wage poverty. Credit card debt survival. Society wages war on the poor and social outcasts. Drinking diabetes to forget. Addiction to numb the pain. Alternative medicine, illegal in most states. Air polluted by consumerism. Trees worth more dead than alive. Social media fantasy. Vanity in the form of likes. A mental health crisis, bodies dropping like flies. Therapy, modern day luxury.  Human right issues swept under the rug. Private prisons filled with nonviolent criminals, paid by taxes.  All in the name of wealth, in money we trust. 

Souls sold to the highest bidder.

We let it happen.

When you don't stand for something, you fall for anything. Not anymore. Together we rise, for there is work to be done. In this life, nothing is owed to you. Do not take for granted the privileges given and those we have yet to receive. The critic counts when they are agents for good. Do not be afraid to criticize. Be braver than most. Look at the standard and ask for more. Ask for better. You deserve better and our society has failed you, over and over again. Do not let this break you. There are too many assholes in this world. So kindness over ego, is an act of rebellion. So rebel. Small acts of kindness, seem insignificant, but are more powerful beyond measure. Friends out of enemies never looked so good. 

How? by choosing to. 

So I

…become comfortable in the uncomfortable. Choose people over profits. Create art for good. Use my voice, until I no longer have one. We need to talk about these issues. But it's not easy to find your voice, so until you do, I want to give you mine. Because hard conversations are worth having.
